DCI
group is a top lobby and
PR firm with strong ties to Exxon
Mobil Corp and tobacco companies.1
It is known for astroturnfing
or hiring people to post on blogs and forums to spread misinformation.
The Wall
Street Journal investigated an anti-global warming/Al Gore movie
on youtube. The videomaker described himself as an
amateur working out of his basement. However, when the WSJ traced the
e-mail they found out that it originated from a computer registered to
DCI Group, Washington, D.C.1,
2
Their CEO Doug
Goodyear, was also heavily
involved
as a PR consultant in RJ Reynold's efforts to manufacture a grassroots
campaign against tougher tobacco laws. DCI Group also funds "Tech Central
Station" a forum for climate change deniers that just so
happens to have received funding directly from Exxon for "climate
change support." |
